Terms and Conditions
The VAT refund will apply under the following conditions:
Minimum purchase amount - Minimum transaction value on the day of purchase that entitles tourists to a VAT refund, stands at a total of 125 NIS including VAT.
The purchase was made at a business approved by the Israeli Tax Authority and the Ministry of Tourism, as a business for a VAT refund to the tourist (on the window or door of the business there will be a sticker indicating that it is an approved business for the tourist).
At the time of purchase, the tourists received a tax invoice and a dedicated document, which they will present to the clerk of the company "Milgam Services Ltd.", which operates the VAT refund service for tourists, upon leaving the country.
When purchasing the goods, the tourists must make sure that all the details and details of the tourists are filled in correctly in the designated document and the tax invoice.
The goods were purchased for the personal use of the tourists only and in non-commercial quantities.
When purchasing jewelry and valuables worth over 20,000 NIS, including VAT, the business must pack the goods in an original bag of the business. Tourists must refrain from opening the bag until they are presented to an official of "Milgam Services Ltd." for the City Ltd., in order to receive a VAT refund.
Tourists who purchase jewelry in the Eilat area are entitled to a refund of the value-added tax they paid, if its value exceeds an amount in new shekels equal to 200 USD, according to the representative rate published by the Bank of Israel before the date of purchase. For this purpose, “jewelry” includes a watch.
Please note:
Jewelry with a value of less than 200 USD is entitled for VAT exemption under section 5 (c) of the Free Trade Area in Eilat Law (Exemptions and Tax Discounts), 1985.
How to get the VAT refund
When leaving Israel, tourists must go to the VAT refund desk of "Milgam Services Ltd." and present the following documents:
passport.
The goods together with the tax invoice.
The designated document, for the purchase of the goods, for approval of the VAT refund.
The designated document and the tax invoice will be on the dates between the tourist's entry into Israel and his departure from Israel.
The date of the designated document will be the same as the date of issuance of the tax invoice.
Tourists leaving the country via Ben-Gurion Airport, who have goods that cannot be loaded onto the plane as hand luggage, or for security reasons (cosmetics and others), will go to the VAT refund counter of "Milgam Services Ltd." at the entrance to the Departures hall, before the security check.
At the counter, the tourists must present their passport and the goods together with the tax invoice and the designated document, in order to receive a refund of the VAT refund. The refund will be given at the VAT refund counter of "Milgam Services Ltd." in the passengers’ hall area, after passing the border control inspection.
Tourists must request a VAT refund before leaving the country. A refund request that arrives from abroad for any reason will not be approved.
